The pharaoh I have chosen is Ramses II. He is probably the most popular pharaoh. We know him as a mean and conceited person. One of the reasons was because of the way he treated Moses. Pharaoh in Egyptian means “big house”. People thought that pharaohs were the god of the sky here on earth. That is why they were very afraid of him and respected him.

Ramese II was the son of King Seti II and Queen Tuy .He was the oldest Pharaoh who lived. Ramese was Moses nemesis. He made a lot of temples one of them called Abu Simbel. He ruled over a big area of the country. He put an end to problems between the Hittites and, the Egyptians when he married a Hittite Princess. They say that he had more than then 100 children.

King Ramses was also known as “Ramses the Great”. He ruled for more than 6o years. Rameses was one of the greatest warrior’s. He also left many monuments all over Egypt. Ramses Empire was from South Syria to the fourth cataract of the Nile. King Ramses lived a very rich and wealthy life. He wore fancy clothes and a lot of jewelry.

Ramses was also a very good builder. His best structure that he made was a sandstone cliff that was in ancient Nubia. He also made many more sculptures in his life. The reason he did that was because he wante everyone to remember him even after he was dead.

King Ramses tomb is in the Valley of the Kings and is empty. His tomb is empty because people have robbed his tomb. Ramses mummy is one of the best preserved mummies ever found. Archeologist found his body in 1881. The treasures they found were exhibited in a museum in Cairo, Egypt.

Ramses ruled more years than any other pharaoh except for a pharaoh called Pepi II. I chose him because he seemed very interesting and because he had contact with Moses.
